FISHING SPOT GUIDE

Mommilanjärvi – pike-perch and elusive pike

Lake Mommilanjärvi is best known for annual rowing competitions. The shallow lake is at its best for pike, pike-perch and perch fishing in the summer months, once the water temperature rises above 15 degrees Celsius. The best pike-perch fishing spots are located in the centre of the lake, where the water is approximately 9 metres deep. For the best results, try trolling with yellow or perch-patterned wobblers at the height of the pike-perch season in July–August.

Those fishing for pike should head to the shallow south part of the lake, where pike and large perch are known to hide among the aquatic plants. Mommilanjärvi is known for large pike, so hold on tight to your rod!
